My practice spans photography, film, and curatorial work. I studied Visual Arts at the University of the Arts in Berlin, where I developed a deep interest in how images shape perception. For me, images are not just representations but starting points for layered processes that question memory, visibility, and visual culture. My work moves between documentary research and poetic abstraction, often engaging with collective narratives, memory sites, and personal archives. I work with found materials, soundscapes, and spatial forms, guided by an interest in visual resistance, forgotten histories, and the political potential of the archive. My approach unfolds through three interwoven modes: narrative, observation, and autobiography.
In the narrative mode, I work as a researcher of memory and disappearance—investigating how marginalized histories survive through place, voice, and gesture. Often beginning with fieldwork, I collect oral stories, trace fragile landscapes, and explore overlooked materials. I see the archive as a living space for complexity, rather than a place of fixed truths. I’m drawn to the tension between presence and absence, and how that tension is held in images, silence, or ritual.
In the observational mode, my process becomes more exploratory and intuitive. I’m fascinated by the “poetry of forms”—how visual structures can carry meaning on their own. I create non-representational images, unexpected sequences, and spontaneous compositions that open new ways of seeing. My photobooks often emerge from this space, where logic gives way to rhythm, play, and chance.
The autobiographical mode holds my most personal, long-term work. These projects are not confessional, but contemplative. They reflect on my relationship to place, identity, and memory—quiet inquiries into belonging, movement, and loss.
Collaboration is at the heart of my practice. I view artistic work as relational—shaped by listening, shared authorship, and mutual learning. As co-founder of The Pocket Project, a magazine for mobile photography and decentralized storytelling, I explore new visual formats and modes of collective archiving.
Across all these modes, I seek a balance between the poetic and the political, the intuitive and the investigative. My work invites viewers into layered encounters with memory in its most fragile, transformative forms.
